Brief Bio
Fabio Morbidi received the Ph.D. degree in Robotics and Automation from the University of Siena, Italy, in 2009. He was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA, in 2008, and he held post-doctoral positions at Northwestern University, USA, University of Texas at Arlington, USA, and at Inria Grenoble Rhone-Alpes, France. Since 2014, he has been an Associate Professor of Robotics with the University of Picardie Jules Verne, France. He is a member of the Robotic Perception group of the MIS (Modeling, Information and Systems) laboratory, and the author or co-author of over 70 articles in the field of Robotics and Automatic Control. He has been a Senior Member of IEEE since April 2019. His main research interests include multi-robot and network systems, and robot vision with applications to autonomous vehicle localization and navigation.
Juha Röning
University of Oulu
Brief Bio
Juha Röning is the head of the Biomimetics and Intelligent Systems Group (BISG) research unit and a professor in the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Oulu, Finland. He obtained a PhD and a licentiate, with honors, in technology, and an MS, with honors, in engineering, all from the University of Oulu. He holds two patents and has published more than 300 papers in the areas of computer vision, robotics, intelligent signal analysis, and software security. He has more than 30 years of experience in mobile robotics. He was a founding member to FP7 NoE European Robotics Research Network EURON, FP7 euRathlon, the SPARC robotics PPP, and is a member of the board of directors of euRobotics aisbl. He is a Fellow of SPIE, a member of IEEE and the International Society for Computers and Their Applications. His research interests include data mining, intelligent systems, mobile robots, and software security.

Robotics is a field that is closely connected to Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems. Research and development of robots require technologies originating from the other two areas; the research work in Computer Vision has often been driven by needs in Robotics; Intelligent Systems models and software have often been developed aiming at applications in the areas of physical agents, i.e. robots, or in areas  related to scene understanding, video and image processing, and many other aspects of computer vision. There is a need for a venue where these three research communities, often isolated, meet and discuss innovation possibilities driven by the intersection of these highly synergetic fields.

IJCCI Workshops - ROBOVIS 2022
