Universities, R&D Groups and Academic Networks

IJCCI is a unique forum for universities, research groups and research projects to present their research and scientific results, be it by presenting a paper, hosting a tutorial or instructional course or demonstrating its research products in demo sessions, by contributing towards panels and discussions in the event's field of interest or by presenting their project, be it by setting up an exhibition booth, by being profiled in the event's web presence or printed materials or by suggesting keynote speakers or specific thematic sessions.

Special conditions are also available for Research Projects which wish to hold meetings at INSTICC events.

Advanced Cloud Document System

Advanced Cloud Document System (ACDS) is a platform to support Public Administration offices in daily jobs and to improve communications with the citizens. The system, which can be defined as SaaS (Software As A Service), is integrated with Google Apps that make easier bureaucracy, supporting common activities as document management, protocol, digital signature, PEC, Fax exchanging. A Kanban approach will be used in the developing of the platform and preferring Open Source tools.

Knowledge Management in Healthcare

This project is carried out in the South Karelia Social and Health Care District and specifically in its central hospital in Lappeenranta, Finland.

In this research project, the primary objectives and goals are to discover and conceptualize knowledge capital and knowledge management concepts and knowledge management processes in a hospital environment by combining together information systems science, knowledge management science, medical science, nursing science, sociology of knowledge, management science, and computational intelligence. The scientific contribution of the project will be to create 1) a new theory of knowledge management in healthcare environment based on discovered empirical findings. The practical and managerial contribution is to 2) help physicians and nurses to understand their own valuable knowledge capital and practices, 3) get familiar with the knowledge management practices in the hospital, 4) help to build up better healthcare information systems together. The methodological contribution will be to use 5) both diverse qualitative research methods such as grounded theory (GT), and novel intelligent computing methods together.

Process Community Environment

The proposed work deals with the development of an innovative system of
social bookmarking based on a semantic approach, which enables users to store, classify
and retrieve web contents (text documents, images, videos). Classification is obtained
through a total semantic disambiguation conducted on a taxonomic-vertical axis and on a
folksonomic-horizontal axis (with semantic tags). The final aim is to create a collaborative
knowledge base of semantically disambiguated contents and to achieve more precise
results in Web retrieval.
The project is developed by ExperTeam Srl (www.e-xperteam.com) and the Department of
Electrical and Electronic Engineering (DIEE) of University of Cagliari and it is financially
supported by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia with European local development funds.

CRITICAL SYSTEM ENGINEERING ACCELERATION

The ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking project CRYSTAL (CRitical sYSTem engineering AcceLeration) takes up the challenge to establish and push forward an Interoperability Specification (IOS) and a Reference Technology Platform (RTP) as a European standard for safety-critical systems. This standard will allow loosely coupled tools to share and interlink their data based on standardized and open Web technologies that enables common interoperability among various life cycle domains. This reduces the complexity of the entire integration process significantly. Compared
to many other research projects, CRYSTAL is strongly industry-oriented and will provide ready-to-use integrated tool chains having a mature technology-readiness-level (up to TRL 7). In order to reach this goal, CRYSTAL is driven by real-world industrial use cases from the automotive, aerospace, rail and health sector and builds on the results of successful predecessor projects like CEASAR, SAFE, iFEST, MBAT on European and national level.
